As part of our outdoor learning this year, we have signed up to the Woodland Trusts ‘ Green tree Schools award’.  This initiative promotes a range of opportunities, each designed to stimulate a child’s imagination and sustain their interest in woods and trees.

As well as the learning taking place within each activity, the school also receives points which are accumulated in an effort to reach milestones, celebrated with bronze, silver and Gold achievements.

As part of this initiative we have been planting hedgerow saplings on our school field to help provide food and shelter for our native wildlife.  I hope that this work inspires and connects the children to their natural environment and promote a life long passion for protecting our precious planet.
